Michael Harrison was Victor's appeal barrister, instructed by Stuart Grace. He realised that Julian Dale and Tim Stirmey were guilty of not properly defending their client, as per Boodram v Trinidad and Tobago 2001. But, he also fell into the same trap himself, in not securing transcripts of the medial testimony of Dr Liebenberg.
Had Mr Harrison done so, he could have instructed an independent expert, and would have found out that the CPS had accelerated Victor's case, to get it into the Hove Crown Court, just two weeks before publication of a Report, that would have gone a long way to exonerating von Woolfe. Because, the marks attributed to sexual abuse, were in fact, naturally occurring in young females. Not at all suspicious.
That would most likely have meant, that Sussex police would have to abandon their crusade to convict Victor, to discredit him, for making allegations of planning corruption in Wealden District Council. And, perhaps, found another way to get rid of him. Or, God forbid, admit to their wrongdoing.

Where a breakdown in a relationship or a domestic grievance turns into a devastatingly weaponized false allegation—is the nightmare scenario for any defense lawyer, and it lies at the absolute center of debates around reforming sexual offenses law.
